I have a Macbook Pro mid 2010 that I bought to learn about Macs. I rarely use it as I dislike Apple’s style of “we want you to do things the way we want you to, and give you no choice”. I also dislike most of the interface. That’s just me though and quite a few people I know own Macs.
Anyway, I went to turn it on and the battery was dead. I plugged it in, and played around, updated software as I usually do. I did however notice the battery wasn’t charging. When clicking on the battery icon it stated my Macbook “Battery is not charging” Power Source: Power Adapter.
I did the usual unplug, replug, reboot etc. It didn’t work. So a quick internet search came up with the following post.
“I should have read the rest of the posts. I was quite surprised when the Left-Shift,Control,Option,Power combo immediately shut my MBP down.”

This has resolved my charging issue. I tried the solution which helped many others. Left Shift + Power. But that didn’t help me.
