A few years ago, I had an old Hyper X headset that was great during gaming but terrible for daily life: I’d have to take it off every time I went to the bathroom or got a drink. Eventually one side snapped when I lifted it by one hand off my head to one side, so I started looking for a new wireless headset.
A friend recommended the Arctic 1 Wireless – it’s affordable (under $200 AUD)
It has solid battery life
Great or at least very decent audio quality in both the microphone and earpieces
Other friends I asked gravitated towards the more expensive headsets, and I wasn’t too keen on the idea. From hearing about then, those pricey options didn’t last longer than cheaper ones I was looking at.
I’ve owned the Arctic Wireless for a few years now with no major issues. The only maintenance I’ve done is replacing the foam ear pads and headband sponges with third‑party replacements – just $15 for the set from AliExpress – which still feel as good as the originals.
